My Joyous Song

Monday, October 18

It goes a little something like this....

It's my mess-making toddler pushing the stack of nicely folded laundry off the couch only so he can sit closer to me. It's a hot cup of coffee at 7am, outside, when the temperature has finally dropped below 60 degrees.  It's a bag of home-made chocolate chip cookies handed to me after a day spent wiping the tears away.  It's a full night's sleep after spending 2 weeks caring for  my sick little almost-2-year-old.  It's hearing of God's goodness from the lips of another.  It's being the giver of God's goodness.  It's seeing the tear-filled eyes of the person receiving God's goodness.  It's the text from a heaven-sent friend that says: "It's gonna be ok".  It's the caterpillar I saw yesterday, and what came to mind when I saw him: "this little guy has no idea the beauty that waits for him on the other side".  It's actually believing that I am fearfully and wonderfully made.  It's watching five grown women attempt to sneak dunkin donuts coffee into a movie theater. It's knowing that I have five women in my life to laugh with.  It's my son's morning eyes that remind me that His mercies are new every morning.  It's watching my husband walk in the door each afternoon knowing that he just spent 9 hours of his day doing what he can to take care of his family.  It's never hearing my husband complain about it.  It's telling myself that I have the best most beautiful excuse of why my size 6 jeans don't fit anymore.  It's the card that came in the mail yesterday that said:"From one daughter of the King to another".   It's my family.  It's from my 'front porch looking in'. It's hearing my son say: "Dear Jesus, please keep my friends and family safe" "De Jeees, peas my ends sape".  It's telling myself that my best days really are ahead of me.  It's knowing that I'm here to do more than just "hang in there".  It's getting through the bad days to remember what really matters.  It's loving - without condition.

WHAT'S YOURS?

Be blessed.
